Latest from CES: Duck Hunter

January 7, 2009 11:07 by English Guy

The CES Show (International Consumer Electronics Show) is in full swing in Las Vegas this week, with new products for audio, in-car, home-theatre, wireless and gaming. All the techy gadgets that English Guy would love to roadtest and keep.

Not going to happen.

So at least we can spot some of the wierder gadgets for our next Birthday or Holiday present.

This is The Duck Hunter. Cool! You can see more CSS Videos here.

South Africa gets “affirmative action”.

Is the USA a bit isolationist?

Yep, Women want us on the bottom.

Vatican – very clever.

France still troubled by years of socialist work practices. i.e. no bugger works.

Now. That’s a long one

January 7, 2009 10:49 by English Guy

Using Windows Live Writer to check if web-sourced images work. If you’re seeing nothing or a blank rectangle, best step over here to see what I linked to.

Still a good question. WTF is a Penguin doing on a Helipad?

Social Security Sex

January 7, 2009 09:24 by Benson

Two men were talking.  'So, how's your sex life?'

'Oh,  nothing special. I'm having Social Security sex.'

'Social Security sex?'

'Yeah, you know; I get a little each month, but not enough to live on!'

Some “Last Suppers” to make you think

January 6, 2009 16:33 by English Guy

If you know your art, Bible and scripture you’ll be familiar with Leonardo Da Vinci’s “The Last Supper”.

Here are a whole collection of other interesting portrayals of that iconic Christian theme. Click here to view the other excellent facsimiles.

This one from House.

Old Dell Dimension 4100

January 6, 2009 16:17 by English Guy

Dell constantly impress me. This picture demonstrates the longevity of Dell Computers. Even if this Dell Dimension 4100 (grey-tower under the desk) is over 4 years old and has been relegated to the teenagers bedroom, you can still download drivers and BIOS updates using its steady ever-reliable Service Tag.

Can you say that of any other manufacturer?

That’s another two good reasons to love Dell (and toffee apples and cute girls sticking their tongues out).

HP Firebird 803 Gaming PC

January 6, 2009 14:36 by English Guy

Being slightly involved with IT, friends and family always come asking for advice and recommendations for the best-buy or the most appropriate piece of kit. Of course a daunting task considering the monthly or weekly release of new equipment.

Still worse, the slightest glitch (usually theirs, self-inflicted) automatically becomes my fault. Can’t win really.

All you can do is throw some options on the table, refuse to answer “What would you buy” and (only then) let them make the decision.

If money were no object, this would be a cool purchase! Via BornRich they detail this uber-cool HP Firebird 803. A king amongst gaming rigs. Look at this spec!

  • Intel Core 2 Quad CPI
  • Twin NVIDIA GeForce 9800S
  • 320Gb Hard Drives and …
  • LIQUID COOLING

All that was great news until you get the price tag of about $2,100.00. Still nice to dream.

Flexible Russian Girls

January 6, 2009 13:36 by English Guy

You know. I'm not sure these really work for me. Sure, some of the poses seem OK, sort of natural enough, but when they're a contortionist nightmare, I start to look away. But hey, ho, it takes all sorts to make the world go-around.

 More here.

Loud v Quiet

January 6, 2009 09:20 by Benson

LOUD SEX A wife went in to see a therapist and said, 'I've got a big problem,
doctor. Every time we're in bed and my husband climaxes, he lets out this
ear splitting yell.'
'My dear,' the  shrink said, 'that's  completely natural. I don't see what
the problem is.'
'The problem is,'  she complained, 'it wakes me up!'

QUIET SEX

Tired of a listless sex life, the man came  right out and asked his wife
during a recent lovemaking session,   'How come you never tell me when you
have an orgasm?'

She  glanced at him casually and replied, 'You're not home!'
